Web Pages vs Post Types – On the frontend of a website, every page can be considered a “web page.” However, on the backend of your website, “Pages” refers to a specific Post Type.
The Pages section in the backend is home to all page entries. In WordPress, โPagesโ are a specific Post Type and are typically used for static content on web pages like the Home, About, Contact, and similar pages. To manage your litters and dogs, youโll add and edit entries within the Litters and Dogs sections of the website backend. These are Custom Post Types created specifically for your dog breeding website.

Understanding the Divi Page Builder
Divi uses color to communicate aspects of its interface.
- Purple – Page settings
- Blue – Sections
- Grass Green – Rows
- Black – Modules
- Neon Green – Global Modules
Global Modules (Neon Green)
Global modules can be a section, row, or module. They’re items used in multiple locations on the website. If itโs updated on one page that change will be reflected anywhere that global asset is used. To edit content within a global asset, please contact Support.
Page Settings
To open the โPage Settingsโ menu, click on the purple circle with 3 horizontal dots. Conversely, if you click on the purple circle when it displays an โXโ the page settings will close.
Builder Settings
The builder settings give you options for how you can work with the Divi Builder.
Wireframe View
The Wireframe View transforms the Visual Builder into a block-based presentation. For long, complicated pages, switching to Wireframe View allows you to make quick updates to the page by easily locating and modifying blocks of content.
Zoom Out
As the name implies, the Zoom Out view allows you to see the page from a distance.
Desktop View
The desktop view shows the website in full-frame.
Tablet View
Youโre able to preview how your website will generally present to users on iPads and tablets using the Tablet View. This is not an exact match for how the page will be seen and should not be considered a replacement for professional device testing.ย
Phone View
Youโre able to preview how your website will generally present to users on phones using the Phone View. This is not an exact match for how the page will be seen and should not be considered a replacement for professional device testing.ย
Layers
The Divi Layers panel allows you to quickly view, navigate, and edit your content inside an interface of nested layers.
Divi Builder Helper
Divi comes with 70 full-length instructional videos that cover just about every Divi topic. Because you donโt have full administrative permissions, not all of the instructional videos will be relevant.
Editing Content
Sections (blue) and Rows (green)
Though you can see the blue and green outlines of the sections and rows, your user role doesnโt have the necessary permissions to edit them.
Modules (black)
Modules are where editable media and content are located. There are two ways you can edit the textual content.
- Place your cursor over the text you want to edit and click. You’ll now be able to highlight, backspace, and add, change, or remove the text.ย
- Hover over the content you want to edit and click on the module setting cog icon. The setting box will open and you can update the text or media from the fields in this settings box.
